Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 March 2026

1. Introduction

Forfeit Limited ("Forfeit", "we", "us", or "our") operates mobile applications (the "Apps") that provide voluntary accountability and related tools (such as alarms and optional pledge-style features).

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the Apps, how it is used, and your choices and rights. By using the Apps, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Apps.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date when we do. Where the law requires us to notify you of material changes, we will comply.

2. Who is responsible for your information?

Forfeit Limited is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Apps, except where a service provider (such as Apple or Google) determines how certain data is processed under its own terms (for example App Store payments).

Registered in England and Wales. Company No. 16934276.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

At present, the Apps do not require you to create a Forfeit account or to give us your name, email address, or phone number to use core features.

If you contact us by email, we will process the information you include in your message and any technical details needed to respond (such as your email address).

3.2 Information collected automatically on your device and by our service providers

To run, secure, and improve the Apps, limited technical and usage information may be collected automatically. Depending on how you use the Apps, this can include:

• Device and software information (for example device model, operating system version, locale, app version)

• App activity and diagnostics (for example feature usage, interaction events, flow steps, and error or crash reports)

• Performance data (for example latency or stability signals)

• Pseudonymous identifiers associated with the installation or device, used by analytics or diagnostics tools to distinguish one installation from another over time

We use service providers to help with analytics, diagnostics, and performance monitoring. Our Apps currently use Google Firebase services (which may include Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring) subject to Google's terms and privacy notices. Those providers may process the categories of data described above on our behalf.

We do not use this information to sell your personal data (see section 6).

3.3 Camera and wake verification (where enabled)

If you enable a feature that uses the camera (for example a photo-based wake check), images are processed to operate that feature. Processing is designed to occur on your device to validate the wake check, consistent with how the App is described in-app. We do not operate a social network or public gallery of your wake photos in the Apps.

3.4 Notifications

If you enable notifications, Apple’s operating system handles delivery. We may receive limited information related to notification delivery or interaction where needed to operate features (for example routing you to a screen when you open a notification), and we may log generic interaction events for analytics.

3.5 Payments and in-app purchases

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card number or bank account details from Apple for those purchases.

We may process limited purchase-related information needed to provide entitlements and improve the product experience, such as product identifiers, purchase status, and currency or price information where made available by Apple or recorded on-device. Depending on configuration, purchase-related events may also be processed by our analytics providers in line with their tools and this Policy.

4. How and why we use information (lawful bases)

We use information for the following purposes, based on applicable data protection law:

• To provide the Apps and features you choose to use (contract; legitimate interests in delivering and supporting the service)

• To maintain security, monitor stability, troubleshoot crashes, and prevent abuse (legitimate interests; legal obligations where applicable)

• To understand usage in aggregate and to improve features and reliability (legitimate interests)

• To comply with law, regulatory requests, or legal process (legal obligation)

We do not use personal data to sell personal data (see section 6). We do not use personal data for cross-app tracking for third-party advertising based on your activity across other companies’ apps and websites, as commonly understood under platform tracking rules.

5. Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including:

• for analytics and diagnostics, typically in line with provider retention settings and our operational needs; and

• for correspondence with you, long enough to resolve the request and meet legal or accounting requirements where applicable.

Exact retention periods can depend on the systems involved. You may contact us for more detail about a specific processing activity.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We may share information with:

• Apple, to the extent required for App Store distribution, payments, notifications, and platform services

• Service providers who assist us (for example Google/Firebase for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring), under appropriate contracts where required

• Professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and integrity

We do not sell personal data.

If Forfeit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the successor to honour protections consistent with this Policy where applicable law requires.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom. Our service providers may process data in the UK, the EEA, the United States, and other countries. Where UK or EEA personal data is transferred to countries not treated as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or provider compliance programmes), as permitted.

8. Children and minors

The Apps are not directed at young children. If you are below the age of legal majority, you should use the Apps with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision, especially where purchases or pledge-style features are available.

We do not knowingly ask children to provide contact details to use the Apps. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that raises a concern, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to respond.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration, taking into account the nature of the processing and the risks involved. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Your rights (UK and EEA users)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR, including to:

• access a copy of personal data we hold about you

• correct inaccurate data

• erase data in certain circumstances

• restrict or object to certain processing

• data portability, where applicable

• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (if we rely on consent for a specific activity)

• lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

In the UK, the supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can find contact details at ico.org.uk.

To exercise rights, contact us at support@forfeitapps.com. We may need to verify your request in line with law.

11. Third-party links and Apple’s role

The Apps may contain links to third-party sites or rely on Apple platform features. Those third parties have their own policies. Apple’s collection and use of information related to the App Store and your device is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
